2013-06-11 18.13.04 September 25, 2016 was a historic day for Rory McIlroy as he came from behind to win not only the Tour Championship, but also the FedEx Cup. He made a spectacular eagle on #16 and hit his second shot out of the rough to within six feet on his first pass at #18 for another try at eagle. These, and other noteworthy shots, enabled him to snatch the Tour Championship away from Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell and the FedEx Cup away from Dustin Johnson. Rory won because he took risks. Perhaps Rory was hoping some of Mr. Palmer's "just go for it" way of playing the game would rub off on him. Perhaps it did. Today is a bittersweet day for many in the sport. While Rory and others assemble at Hazeltine National Golf Club to compete for the Ryder Cup, a gentleman of the game has gone home. It is only fitting that we remember Mr. Palmer as we... Play a round with the King today and be a blessing to each one you meet!
