I know some of you might be saying there's nothing routine about your game. If I may, I'd like to share how my game took a step toward getting better.

"If you have something important to do,
make sure you get your golf out of the way first."

I don't know how it is for you, but for me, if I don't put it on the calendar it doesn't get done. Consider maintenance on our AC at home. We had a problem recently and I contacted an AC company and learned that it had been over three years since the unit had been maintained. Opps. Needless to say I got that resolved right away.

Other tasks can easily slip through the cracks and be forgot. Fortunately, I learned a long time ago to setup and pay my bills electronically. By the way, experiencing late fees was a great motivator. Now my bills get paid automatically every month. Even those that vary from month to month I've setup to pay something and when I remember to adjust it to reflect the current balance it's all the better. If I forget, at least something is paid.

Now what about important things like taking your spouse out on a date each week. If I didn't put it on the calendar it wouldn't happen. The same is true for playing golf. Over twenty years ago, I joined a regular league. We get together each week for nine holes of golf and fellowship over a bite to eat afterward. Routine helps me maintain my relationships and my game. For me both of these are very important.

What about you? What golf-related routines do you enjoy? We'd love to hear about them in the comments section below.

Well, until next week, have fun and we look forward to meeting you in the fairway.

Blessings,

Steve Sr
