Routine Golf is Great Golf!

I know some of you might be saying there's nothing routine about your game. If I may, I'd like to share how my game took a step toward getting better. "If you have something important to do, make sure you get your golf out of the way first." I don't know how it is for you, but for me, if I don't put it on the calendar it doesn't get done. Consider maintenance on our AC at home. We had a problem recently and I contacted an AC company and learned that it had been over three years ... Read more...

Golf is Like Riding a Bike, Right?

Being away requires time to reengage. Friends who haven't seen each other for a while take time to reengage. Our family recently vacationed together. We enjoyed being together again. We played games, went fishing, went to the beach, enjoyed sunrises and sunsets, and, most of all, we laughed a lot. It had been too long since we did that together. I Shot a 75!!!

It felt great. I played Hazeltine National GC with 3-foot gimmees. It really seams that all my hard work over the spring and summer is paying off. I was 3 over on the front and I shot even par on the back. Wow!!! Maybe one day I can shoot my age. Except for one thing... 1st Hole at Hazeltine National GC …I should mention that I was playing from the Junior Tees (3,730 yards). At Play-a-Round Golf we encourage golfers to discover their game from the flagstick back to the tee box. ... Read more...

Walking or Riding?

Or, maybe it could be better titled "To walk or not to walk, that is the question." Huh? Riding is fun. It's quicker and easier, too. Simply put your bag on the cart. No need to lift the bag or drag your bag over those same hills. Hit your ball over there. No problem, just get in the cart and zip over there. As I've gotten older I've become more sedentary. I sit more often rather than I stand and I ride more often than I walk. But, there's something missing - the feel of the ... Read more...

Boom Booms? Go Zoom Zoom!!!

The weather was hot and muggy. Clouds were rising and getting darker with every hole. I began to hear rumblings that suggested our afternoon nine would soon be cut to five or six. That was okay by me, my game wasn't doing too well. So far, I pulled each of my drives left and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. In addition, several approach shots hit the "big ball before the little ball" suggesting that I wasn't staying in my posture during my swing. Chips were okay, but I didn't ... Read more...
