Is it FUN?

At Play-a-Round Golf, we want each of our guests to have fun, but helping them decide what game to play, under what conditions, and on which course can be rather daunting. So, we ask the following question to get the discussion started... "Challenging or confidence-builder?" Listening to their discussion tells me a lot about the group and why they're here. Are they here to enjoy the beer or wine they brought with them? Do they want to showoff their new driver? Have they brought a newbie ... Read more...

The New CFO!

Listening to a TED talk last week, I realized that I needed to learn more about happiness and picked up Shawn Achor's book "The Happiness Advantage." Work & Play Balance: Where to begin?

Play-a-Round Golf... helping families and friends balance work and play, year-round. Let's begin with Dad. Don't misunderstand, we have no aversion to women and children.  It's just that more men play golf than quite a lot. While children are a growing part of the game, the jury is still out if they'll continue after their parents stop pushing them. Need to think more on this. But back to Dad. First a couple of questions: When he arrives home after a round, is Dad in a good mood ... Read more...

Know the Distance You Carry Each Club

Learn the distance that you carry the ball with each club. You can always predict total distance depending on ground conditions. Does your 3-wood really carry farther than your 5-wood? Unless you have an 85-m.p.h. clubhead speed, I doubt it. How many yards does each wedge go? Does it have the proper loft configuration? How far do you carry your driver? Can you carry those bunkers on the 4th hole at Downingtown CC? It's best to know the answer before you try. Did you know the simulators ... Read more...
