How Fast Can You Play?

With all the clamor regarding speed of play on professional tours, college matches, and the amateur ranks, one would think there would be more emphasis on how fast we can play rather than measuring how slow we play? It's like telling your children, "Don't jump on the bed." The only thing we hear is we play slow. So, if everyone does it, what's the issue? Rather, what if the focus were on how fast we play? What if we spoke about how quickly certain professionals played a round of 18 holes? ... Read more...

Work & Play Balance: Where to begin?

Play-a-Round Golf... helping families and friends balance work and play, year-round. Let's begin with Dad. Once you can hit shots the way you like, then you need to learn how to repeat it. First thing is to have the same set-up routine each time. Record your routine on video, writing down each step. My routine is grip on, right foot pointing at the ball, club behind ball, set feet, shuffle feet to find balance, waggle club, look at target, second waggle, second look at target, settle in, quiet the mind, and swing. Do yours until you can repeat it without thinking. Next work on the sequence and ... Read more...
